CANDLEWOOD LAKE

More than 80 years ago plans were designed and approved to create Candlewood Lake. It is the largest lake in Connecticut and the largest man-made lake in the United States. Candlewood Lake is named after Candlewood Mountain.

Candlewood Inn which was once only a restaurant and now has the best spot to view the lake's outrageous sunset is known for hosting the most elegant events.

There are tons of lake front properties for sale and some include boatslips too!! Lakeside Condos are a magnificent New England townhome community with a beautiful gazebo. The townhomes are newly renovated with 9 foot ceilings, granite kitchens and hardwood floors.

One way they do this is by informing us how to prevent invasive species when kayaking, paddle boarding and boating. There is also Project CLEAR (Candlewood Lake Environmental Awareness and Responsibility) which is a students' hands on research project. There is so much to do on Candlewood Lake. Swimming, boating, paddle boarding, kayaking and much more. Don't forget Candlewood Lake Authority's Seventh Annual Dragon Boat Races will be held on August 15th.
