What do designers, The Burr Homestead in Fairfield, CT and Pat McEnroe all have in common? They all got together this weekend for the Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival to benefit Norwalk Grassroots Tennis. Norwalk Grassroots Tennis is a nonprofit charity whose mission is to improve the lives of children from low-income families through tennis, education, life skills and leadership programs.

The Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival held at the Burr Homestead in Fairfield, CT hosted a weekend long benefit for Norwalk Grassroots Tennis this past weekend. Each room, staircase and hallway of the Homestead was decorated by a different designer with all of their items available for purchase. We are featuring two of the designers who combined their efforts to create a truly beautiful room filled with Christmas spirit. Stephanie Mercado of LeFrere Mercado Designs and Mary Cahill of Mary Cahill Interiors used their creativity to come up with some unique gifts and decorations.

Their room was filled with contemporary touches along with vintage finds. A highlight of the room (and the whole festival,) was their large ornament wreath created using hundreds of ornaments that were mainly vintage finds.

There were special events to attend throughout the weekend and the main event on Saturday evening was the Holiday Gala with featured special guest, tennis star and ESPN host Pat McEnroe. There was also an opening night "Sip and Shop" event as well as a mother-daughter Tea on Sunday. All the proceeds from the event go directly to benefit Norwalk Grassroots Tennis. It was a fantastic event and one to look forward to year after year.
