A Realtor's Normal Day?

I'm not sure what "Joe Public" classifies a typical day in a Realtor's life, but I just had a very very untypical day!

As I was settling down to read through my emails (I check them at 6:30 am and constantly thereafter... ) I received a phone call. "Would you have time this morning to show me a few houses?" She then told me which homes they were - a $3.5M and a $5.5M home in Westport, CT. She was in luck. I did have a free morning.Westport CT 06880 Compo Beach shoreline

I raced through getting at least one appointment for her so we could get to see at least one house in Westport within her free time from a bunch of kids! We actually did get into one, then the other agent called and said we could then go see the other house! Beautiful wonderful brand new homes just completed. The listing agents were there to give us the full blown tour of the homes, and all of the little nuances were pointed out for us.

I returned to then get to work on completing the morning tasks left behind. I have several closings on homes sold and new listings in Stamford and Wilton, so there is plenty to do. The day had returned to a normal weekday of blogging, paperwork, meeting appraisers, setting up appointments, doing CMAs, etc...Shoreline birds at Compo Beach at Westport, CT 06880

Around 4:00 I received a text that a client (who was supposed to be closing on a home for sale in Westport, CT in a week) - he had lost his job. OMG! I thought things like that were not happening anymore! What could I possibly do to help him? Was there any alternative financing that would work for him? We got on the phone with the mortgage folks and lawyer, and tried to "get creative."

Later that evening, my phone rang again, and it was a call from Argentina!! This lady had again found me on the internet, as the morning lady had, but this person just wanted some real estate information. She wanted to know if a certain address in New Canaan was on the market. I looked it up for her, and said, "Yes." Then she asked if "Mr. -" still owned it. I said that according to the tax records, yes. Seaside Park

Then she asked if I would put them in touch, because her father was still alive, and had been really good friends with Mr. - when he lived in New Canaan many years ago. I could hear her father being giddy with happiness in the background. I was able to put them in touch with each other, and I hope they had a wonderful conversation about those "Good Old Times."

What a strange day ! All three of these folks from that day were folks who had contacted me through my marketing exposure on the internet.

What is a "normal day for a Realtor in New Canaan and Westport?"
