The perfect mixture of Old and New!
All Constructed in 1990 on a new foundation with new evertyhing except the antique preserved boards, which was brought from 1815 built home. It was all built with quality craftmanship by Willton's master builder, Walter R.T. Smith, as his own home.
Walter R. T. Smith is one of the most prestigious building preservation experts in Wilton. He has done a lot of projects with Wilton Historical Society to preserve Wilton’s antique houses and historical buildings. And this house is one of them. When he got the permission of removal of 1815 built house (one of the oldest house of Wilton), he carefully dismentled the house and moved it to his property on 18 Forest lane where he rebuilt as his home in 1990.
So the house has its history of two centuries 1800's and late 1900's , yet all in brand new foundation with new systems.
This antique side of dining room and living room carry the 19 century's beauty , preserved 1820 style oven and fireplace.
This additional home added on for kitchen, family room, baths and master bedroom area. New but in same feel as a whole.
The kitchen has all new appliance , new quartz counters, new subway tile backsplash!
Refinished Kichen cabinets and wide board floors all refinished. Storage cabinets were all built by the master builder, Walter Smith.
Entire house was freshly painted and scrubbed head to toe, ready to move in . Top of the line systems in an amazing house! Must see!
Lower level has huge space where you can use as an extra room for play room, excercise room or office room.
The barn
This barn has a historical story into it too This 1830 hand hewn chestnut CT hay barn originally stood in Bethel and he moved it and rebuilt it on his property. It housed an extensive tool collectionn and now it is stored in Wilton Historical Society.
The barn which is almost of the house size could be used as office space or hold a wedding (they did!) or Thanksgiving feast for an army (they did).
