The Saugatuck River in Westport, CT 06880 has a mood of its own, sometimes. The river is a beautiful thing when the tide is in. See, it's a tidal river, meaning that the river is affected by high tide and low tide. Low tide leaves a lot of spots in the river completely without water - just a little stream down the center (or on the side sometimes.) High tide pushes water to the edge of the underbrush, and over the rocks at the edge, sometimes.

I was very lucky today to be driving by at high tide, on my way to an real estate appointment, and found Canada geese, swans, and some ducks enjoying the sunny weather. I stopped along Riverside Avenue, which runs along the edge of the Saugatuck River in Westport CT, at a memorial park for the Westport Police. I had never seen the memorial before, and it just barely caught my eye as I was driving out to the street again.

As a realtor, it is nice to stop and watch the geese and the water run its patterns with the tide. I took the time today to enjoy for a moment.
