Where Have I Been? My Daughter's Wedding!

For those of you who are following me, or who occasionally check in on my blog, I felt a little letter of explanation was needed for my lack of communication all summer. My daughter got married this summer on August 4th to the most wonderful fellow!!!

I thought this was going to be so much fun (it was!) and sooo easy (it was!!) Kristi

My daughter was in Graduate School for the last two years, and teaches two kindergarten classes back to back in the LA area. So, planning a wedding was a monstrous task for her! But, being the most organized person in this entire world, and wanting to do it her way - who doesn't want their wedding done their way - she accomplished this feat.Kristi wedding

She finished both schools by the end of June, had already had her dress (bought that in January) altered in February, and decided to come home to CT by July 17th. By July 17th, there was hardly a detail of the entire event left undone. She had lists and lists - had hired everyone she needed, and was crossing her fingers that I had enough hydrangeas in my gardens for all of her tables for the wedding.

As she began to double check all of the details, little things came up, which they always do, and she began to add things to the events to include seeing more friends.....

pool Friends threw a surprise shower for her on Thursday the 2nd of August - we all chopped and cooked the most incredible lunch in the whole world! Then Thursday night we had all of the family who had arrived in town over for a cookout. Friday morning, all in the wedding party had Mani/ Pedis. cousins table at rehearsal Friday night was the rehearsal at the Wilton Riding Club in Wilton, and dinner for 75 at Harbor Lights in Norwalk....

Then Saturday morning she decided to invite 70-80 kids and friends and family over to our pool for a swimming party and lunch.

Then the most beautiful wedding for 160 at the Wilton Riding Club. Our little tiny family club in the country had a wake up call that night. The rafters shook!Kristi, Jeff, and her helpersJeff and Kristi

And last - Boo Hoo! All got together for breakfast at the Garden Hilton in Norwalk and said good-bye. Kristi and Dad (Kirk)

I slept and fell asleep and kept falling asleep on my computer for the next two weeks. I didn't do anything, but couldn't wake up!

Now I'm back! Watch out!Wilton Riding Club Kristi's weddingWilton Riding Club Kristi's wedding
