About Fairfield County

Fairfield County, Connecticut, known as the “Gold Coast”, is one of the wealthiest communities in the state. Located in the southwestern part of Connecticut, the county is known for the active lifestyle it offers, as well as for the incredible views, and its proximity to New York City. Fairfield County is home to four of the largest cities in the state: Bridgeport, Stamford, Norwalk, and Danbury. It is bounded in the North by Litchfield County, in the East and northeast by Housatonic River, in the South and southeast by the Long Island Sound, and in the West and southwest by the State of New York.

From flat terrain near the coast to hilly and higher areas in the northern parts, Fairfield County has breathtaking landscapes, the highest point being 1,290 feet in the town of Sherman. With almost forty miles of Long Island Sound Shoreline, the county has a wealth of commercial advantages and opportunities. In addition, multiple multinational corporations are headquartered in Fairfield County, including General Electric, Xerox, and GTE.
