Southport, Connecticut – Beaches
Southport Beach
Located at 1505 Pequot Avenue, Southport Beach is about 2.5 acres in size. Small and quiet, this beach offers many facilities. Free and open to the public, the beach is an excellent place for swimming, picnicking, sunbathing and more. There is a permanent concession stand that sells food and beverages on the beach. For your safety, during the beach season there are three lifeguards on duty. Even though there are no daily fees, from Memorial Day to Labor Day you will need a beach sticker if you want to park here. Southport Beach offers incredible views of the Long Island Sound and the beginning of Westport’s “Gold Coast”. Also, from October 1 to March 31, dogs and horses are allowed on the beach. However, they need to be constantly supervised and cleaned after.
