Did you know?

On display in Sloan House in Wilton is a fragment of King George III’s statue, which was torn down by rebel colonists in 1776. Following its destruction, the statue was brought to Connecticut to be made into musket balls for the Continental Army, but for many reasons the statue didn’t make it to Litchfield. The piece exhibited in Wilton, is believed to be a section of the military cloak of the statue.
