The lake also has a large sandy beach area leading up to the waterfront in which there is no shortage of sunshine for any beach-goer! In addition to the beach and lake area, Lake Mohegan runs a sprinkler park for kids which was built and paid for by the volunteer organization Safe Parks and Recreation for Kids (SPARK). This fun way to play and cool down is full of faucets and spouts that are bound to captivate the attention of any young child. The facility also comes equipped with a playground, snack bar, picnic pavilion, and restrooms.
It is located on the premise are a variety of hiking trails managed by the Fairfield Conservation Commission. The parking at Lake Mohegan is free, but a seasonal pass is required in order to use the beach, sprinkler park, concessions stand, and playground. From October 1 the water and run around on the beach, provided they are leashed, cleaned up after, and accompanied by their owners.
