The Woodcock Nature Center is a private and non-profit nature center, situated on 149 acres of stateprotected land in Wilton, Connecticut. It has three miles of beautiful walking trails which pass through a mixture of tranquil habitats, including wetlands, ponds, and wooded forests – all situated amongst historic stone walls that only add to the tranquility.
The center has been a source of environmental education in Southwestern Connecticut since 1972 with the local protected wildlife serving as a resource for educating the community about our natural surroundings. After school activities, public outreach events, on-site birthday parties, and summer camps are just some of the programs that the Woodcock Nature Center provides.
The center also houses a variety of both exotic and local creatures including snakes, frogs, lizards, and injured birds or prey that are not yet ready to be released into the wild.
The Woodcock Nature Center hosts many events throughout the year that the public is eager toparticipate in. The Winter Wonderland event offers cross-country skiing, ice skating, snow-shoeing, as well as all the beauty that a New England winter provides. The Annual Wreath Festival allows for participants to create wreaths while utilizing a cornucopia of natural materials, while Ladies’ Nights allow you to enjoy wine and cheese by a roaring fire.
