The first church built in Westport was the Green’s Farms Congregational Church in 1711. In the 1830′s, Daniel Nash, together with other villagers applied to the Connecticut General Assembly to incorporate the Town of Westport in 1835. Permission was granted.
Westport was established in 1835. It covers 22.4 square miles and has a population of approximately 27,368 residents.
