About Cranbury...

Cranbury is a neighborhood in the northeast corner of Norwalk, CT. A local community group, called the Save Cranbury Association, aims to preserve the historical and rural quality of this area of Norwalk.

Located in Cranbury is Cranbury Park, which is almost 220 acres in size. The park features many trails and a full frisbee golf course, making dog walking and frisbee playing very popular in this neighborhood. In addition, many classes are offered at the park, including dog obedience, yoga, tai chi, painting, photography, and more.

In the park is the estate of Edward B. Gallaher, former owner of the Clover Manufacturing Company. The Gallaher Mansion is a 20 room, Tudor Revival-style English fieldstone manor house built in the early 1930s. The mansion, with oak paneling, French doors, and stained glass windows, is a popular place for community meetings and weddings.

At the corner of Cranbury Road and Newtown Avenue is The White Barn Theatre, founded by the late actress Lucille Lortel in 1947. The theater was created from an old horse barn which was has since been expanded and renovated. Lortel wanted to present unusual and experimental plays as well as promote new playwrights, composers, actors, directors, and designers.

Norwalk is a beautiful and lively city in Fairfield County, Connecticut. Found 45 miles from New York City, it is part of the greater New York Metropolitan area.
