The Ridgefield Tree Committee has released a new book titled Trees of Interest, a colorful tome full of pictures and little known facts on Ridgefield's most famous trees. A must-have gift for the "barkhead" in your family, the book contains fascinating tidbits including a tree on Main Street whose wood sinks instead of floats!

Other interesting facts:

• The Beech trees in Richardson Park never get struck by lightning.
• Ballard Park’s Linden Tree has flowers which were once used to calm fits of hysteria.
• The Daggerwood Tree is named so because its wood is so hard daggers were made from it.
