Ghosts, Goblins and Ghouls all come out to haunt the neighborhood in search of Tricks or Treats. Halloween is a fun time in Wilton, CT and the good weather predicted for this years festivities will help make it even better. Carving pumpkins, haunted houses, costume contests, games, parades and more! To help plan your week, here is a partial listing of activities in town.

Wednesday, October 28

Wilton Library Halloween Baby Bibs, 10 a.m. – noon:Using the Library’s Innovation Station‘s electronic sewing machine, embroider a baby’s bib for Halloween. For ages 13-113 or 6th and 7th graders with an adult. Participants must have a valid CT Library card and signed Innovation Station Agreement Form. Please bring the completed form to the workshop. Space is limited to two students per session, and registration is required. Wilton Library, 137 Old Ridgefield Rd..

Wilton Historical Society BYOP (Bring Your Own Pumpkin), 4-5 p.m.: Carve and decorate a grinning Jack O’Lantern! Come to the Wilton Historical Society‘s 1860 Abbott Barn for a fun session led by museum educator Allison Reznik. Children and their adults can create a Halloween masterpiece! Pumpkins are available for purchase on-site from the Kiwanis Club or participants can bring their own pumpkin. Carving tools, craft materials, cider and cookies will be provided. Friday, Oct. 30

Wilton Library’s Haunted Chamber, 2:30 – 5:30 p.m.: Can you survive the Children’s Library’s Haunted Chamber? Proceed with caution through a nightmarish room filled with slimy touch buckets, creepy obstacles, and scary storytellers. Enter the Haunted Chamber if you dare any time during the event. Need to gather your courage before entering the Haunted Chamber? No problem! There will also be a Pumpkin Search & Find game, a jack-o-lantern felt board, and coloring sheets set up in the Children’s Library. Enter the Haunted Chamber if you dare! Walk in; no fee required. Wilton Congregational Church “Trunk or Treat: The Great Tomb Raid,” 6-8 p.m.: A fun, safe Halloween alternative is open to all and will be filled with fun, food, and faith! Parents are invited into the “Lost Lounge” for tea, coffee, and light refreshments while children play games, build crafts, and enjoy mini-foods just for them. Pre-register to receive a free Trunk or Treat Bag on the WCC website. Wilton Congregational Church, 291 Danbury Rd.

Trackside Teen Center Halloween Party for 6th-8th graders, 7:30-9:30 p.m.: Features a costume contest, games, music, dance floor, prizes and, of course, candy. Tickets are $10/person, and can be purchased online. Trackside Teen Center, 15 Station Rd.

Saturday, Oct. 31

Wilton Chamber of Commerce Pumpkin Parade and Trick-or-Treating, 12-2 p.m.: Masked revelers unite! Need somewhere safe and well lit to take your little pumpkin to snag a respectable haul? This year’s Pumpkin Parade and Trick-or-Treating celebrates creativity and imagination. Channel your inner princess, monster or ghost and have some frightful fun in Wilton Center. Don’t forget to bring along your four-legged friends (there will be treats for them too). “Tricks + Treats” trick-or-treat bags will be given to the first 200 wee goblins who stop at the Wilton Chamber office to collect the candy that Wilton shops will be handing out. Chamber spirits will also be passing out “Shop Small” tote bags for moms and dads. Join the festivities! Come see all the costumes and show off yours. It’ll be quite a sight! What are you gonna be? Moments by Andrea Halloween Family Portrait Session to benefit Wilton Community Assistance Fund, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. For the 4th year in a row, Wilton photographer Andrea Topalian donates her time and offers Free Professional Halloween Portraits with a minimum donation of $20 to the Wilton Community Assistance Fund. 100-percent of all donations go to the Wilton Community Assistance Fund to help Wilton families in need. Last year Topalian’s effort raised $2,500, so stop by to help your neighbors and get great Halloween portraits too! Topalian will be shooting portraits in front of a festive fall scene, plus raffle prizes and more. Organized by Moments by Andrea Photography and the Wilton Chamber of Commerce. Hope Church Trunk or Treat, 4-6 p.m.: Trunk or Treat at Hope Church. There will be live music, free food, candy, games, crafts and more. Hope Church, 240 Wolfpit Rd.

JoyRide Wilton’s Live DJ and Halloween Costume Ride, 8:40 a.m. and 9:50 a.m.: Two cycle classes featuring live DJ rides with ATOM (Matt Inconiglios). Ride with instructor Anne Stauff at 8:40 a.m. or the instructor team of Adam and Jaime at 9:50 a.m.. Riders are encouraged to wear costumes and there’ll be prizes for the best costumes. Sunday, Nov. 1

Halloween Hustle 5K and Scarecrow Scamper Kids’ Run, 10 a.m.: The 13th Annual Halloween Hustle 5K is an active, healthy fall run on Halloween weekend! Race through Wilton Center’s ‘Wicked Way’, the Halloween Parade and trick-or-treating route, as hundreds of spectators in the spooky Center cheer you on! This 5K run is held on a fast and fun course that winds through downtown Wilton, Merwin Meadows Park and the Wilton High School Complex. The 5K is followed by the Scarecrow Scamper Kids’ Run at 11 a.m. Participants are encouraged to don a spooky, madcap or “boo”-tiful Halloween costume! Awards for runners and prizes for the best individual and group costumes will be announced after the race. 5K pre-registration fee (before Oct. 23rd) $25; day-of registration fee $30; goblins 12-and-under $10. Scarecrow Scamper Kids’ Run: Goblins 12-and-under $10. Register online. Race day check-in and registration will begin at 9 a.m. at the Town Green Gazebo.
